Tax Filing Workshops
2024 INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX RETURNS ARE DUE TUESDAY, APRIL 15TH.
READ THIS PAGE BEFORE REGISTERING FOR A WORKSHOP.
UPDATE: APRIL 14TH AND 15TH WORKSHOPS
There will be workshop sessions on Monday, April 14th, and Tuesday April 15th.
These sessions will be structured differently. Workshops on April 14th and 15th will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees are still required to register in advance to allow our team to properly assign tax filing software.
Registration for the April 14th and 15th workshops does NOT guarantee you a seat. The sessions scheduled for April 14th and 15th will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis to maximize the number of tax filers we can see on those days. While registration does not guarantee you a seat, tax filers who have not completed the registration process as requested will not be seated until they have registered.
You MUST set up an account in the appropriate filing software and have entered your basic information before attending a workshop. Links to filing software are included in the confirmation email that is sent out when you register for a session.
US citizens, permanent residents, and resident aliens should use TaxSlayer.
International students and staff who are nonresident aliens for tax purposes or are unsure of their tax residency status should use the link for Sprintax.
You can complete registration using the link below.

If you are not able to complete your return before the 15th. You would need to complete and submit Form 4868 to the IRS to request an automatic extension of time to file. This extension will give you until October to submit your tax return; however, it does NOT extend the deadline to pay any tax owed. If you owe tax, you will still need to make that payment by the 15th to avoid penalties and interest. You can file that extension request online, or you can submit a paper copy of Form 4868 by mail. You should keep a copy of your Form 4868 for your records. The state of Kansas follows the federal extension and does not have a separate extension form.
If you owe tax, you will need to make that payment by the 15th to avoid interest and penalties. You can make payments online. If you need help locating that online portal for either your state or federal return, let me know and I will try to find a link to the appropriate payment portal.
IRS payments for federal tax owed can be made online at https://www.irs.gov/payments Payments to the Kansas Department of Revenue for state tax can be made online at https://www.kansas.gov/payment-portal/.
